Here are the other places I've been so far and had a good gf dining experience in the Lehigh Valley. I'm sure there are more out there. More research to be done...
BJ’s Brewhouse, Allentown, PA (American)
This place was not really one of our favorites prior to this year. However, there is a really good variety in menu options. They have options for vegetarian/vegan, low-calorie, and gluten-free dietary needs. You would be well served here with a large group with different tastes and preferences. Their beers made in house are OK. They also have a local/state beer selection which is better. I don’t think they have any gluten-free beer, but that’s OK. Stick with the gf menu and you’ll find something good here. Their pizzookie is a delightful dessert option. It is a large cookie made in a pizza pan, hence the name, usually topped with ice cream. Their online menu lists a gf pizzookie option. I have yet to try this, but if it is as good as the original, you should definitely give it a try!
Union and Finch, Allentown, PA (American) There are several items to choose from for lunch/brunch or dinner here. I always say we need to go here more often. Their staff is knowledgeable about the ingredients in their menu items and how they are prepared. They also have bottomless mimosa/ mimosa flight drink options, check em out. It is really nice to have a good place to go for brunch where glutonium won't find me!
Fiesta Ole, Emmaus, PA (Mexican)
Mexican is another cuisine which typically has many options for gluten-free diners. Our favorite is Fiesta-Ole. You probably have your favorite local spot in the valley, as there are many. Cali Burrito is also supposed to have gluten-free options, but I have not seen this advertised on their menu. I would also be concerned about cross-contamination there. Please let me know if you have had a good gf experience there. Lots of choices at Fiesta-Ole and for the portions provided, I think everything is reasonably priced. They recently expanded their drink offerings as well. No gf beer here (that is incredibly hard to find). My favorite thing on their menu is their tacos carnitas, hmm just mouth watering. Be sure to ask for a corn tortilla and read your descriptions carefully since I am not sure that all items could come with a corn tortilla. I've never had an issue with cross contamination here, but be sure to inform them of your allergy. This is a fun place to bring the family, nice casual dining.
The Flying Egg, Bethlehem, PA (breakfast/lunch only)
This place has several gf breakfast options, beyond just steak/eggs. They advertise gf English muffins and sandwich buns for lunch items. The only downside is that they are often out of the gf bread/buns. That is a real bummer if those were the items you came specifically to order. I do love the salmon benedict with basil hollandaise when I can get it. This place is typically pretty crowded around 11-1 on a Saturday or Sunday, so plan accordingly. They have a nice drink selection here too.
Places on my list to check out in the future, they are described as being gluten-free that I have not been to yet include:
Molinari’s, Bethlehem
Bravo Italian, Whitehall
Grille 3501, Allentown
Griddle 145, Allentown
The Mint, Bethlehem
Bella Ristorante, Hellertown
What gluten friendly places would you recommend or what other places should I try?
Cheers!
